CALLING ALL SHOCKTOBER 2021 VOLUNTEERS!

 Ghoulish Greetings to All Past, Present and Future Shocktober Volunteers!

It’s Shocktober’s TERRIFYING 11th season and we’re excited to finally get back to IN PERSON scaring! We need YOU to join our Shock Crew! Shocktober 2021 runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from October 1st to October 30th and it would not be possible without our hundreds of volunteers like YOU!

This year’s Ghoul School will be September 11th and 12th from 1pm-5pm and September 21st from 5pm-9pm. You are required to attend one of these sessions to volunteer. Once you register, you’ll use HauntScheduler to share what kind of position you prefer, add notes or questions, select the dates you’d like to volunteer, and even change your schedule if your plans change–all through HauntScheduler. To protect your privacy, do not use your actual birthdate. Please instead use a date you can remember as your password to use for the season.

If you are a PAST volunteer, login using your email as your username and your birthdate (or other date you entered) as the password. Once logged in, you MUST update your profile and select positions and your schedule. To protect your privacy, change your password to a date that is not your actual birthdate, and review and change any other information that needs to be updated (emergency contact information, for instance). If you do not remember your password, please contact [email protected] and we will send you an email with the information.

ALL volunteers are required to complete and submit a signed waiver. Please print, sign, have parents/guardians sign for any volunteer younger than 18, and bring your waiver to Ghoul School.  All volunteers, no matter which position(s) you fill, even if you’re returning for your 11th year, MUST have a completed waiver on file. No exceptions!

IMPORTANT DATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ghoul School: ALL volunteers are required to attend one of the two Ghoul Schools (no matter which position(s) you fill (acting, makeup, parking, concessions, and all others), and even if you’re returning for your 11th year): 

• Saturday 9/11 from 1 pm to 5 pm (outside volunteers 1 pm to 3 pm)
• Sunday 9/12 from 1 pm to 5 pm (outside volunteers 1 pm to 3 pm)
• Tuesday 9/21 from 5 pm to 9 pm (outside volunteers 5 pm to 7 pm)

Please mark your calendars as attendance to one of the two Ghoul Schools is mandatory for ALL volunteers.

Shocktober 2021 Hours:

• Friday:  7 pm to 10 pm
• Saturday: 7 pm to 10 pm
• Sunday: 7 pm to 9 pm

Shocktober 2021 – Getting to Campus:

ALL SHOCK GUEST parking will be off-site and guests will be bussed to the campus.

If you’re driving to volunteer, you may park on campus as long as you arrive between 4:00 – 6:00 pm. If you arrive after 6 you must park in the off-site parking lot and take the shuttle bus to campus. No exceptions!

If you are getting a ride to volunteer, you may be dropped off on campus between 4:00 – 6:00 pm. If you arrive after 6 you must be dropped off in the off-site parking lot and take the shuttle bus to campus. No exceptions!

If you are being picked up after volunteering, personal vehicles will not be allowed on campus until 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays (Volunteer dismissal time) and 10:00 pm on Sundays (Volunteer dismissal time). Exceptions must be approved in advance.

AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENTS

You will need to audition if you are looking to act OUTSIDE the Manor. Actors inside the Manor and/or Basement do NOT need to have acting experience and do NOT need to audition.

Shocktober is the largest fundraising event of the year for The Arc of Loudoun which advocates for, educates, serves and supports people with disabilities and their families.
