You are in for the scare of a lifetime at Shocktober this season!
Shocktober is a hauntingly memorable experience that will touch all five of your senses! From the sights and sounds of our REAL Haunted House and its inhabitants, to the smell of rotting flesh and the creepy cobwebs that you touch as you walk through the old mansion, to the scary good beer, wine, and killer pizza we have for sale onsite, your senses will be on high alert.
Where your nightmare begins:
Shocktober is located at 601 Catoctin Circle, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, in historic Leesburg, just a short distance from Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center.
When you arrive, you will enter through the gates, past the hearse and Shocktober banners. A parking attendant will show you where you can park in our field (for free). From the field where you will park, all will enter through the Waiver Area… As we are the “Haunted House That’s So Terrifying You Have To Sign A Waiver To Enter,”
First things first, ALL MUST SIGN A WAIVER. You can do this beforehand HERE (please print, sign and bring to Shocktober) or sign onsite. After signing the waiver, we will stamp your hand and then you may proceed to the Ticket Office to exchange your ticket for a wristband. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All who enter must have purchased or purchase a ticket at the Ticket Office. If you have pre-purchased a ticket, you will need to exchange the ticket for a wristband at our Ticket Office. The Ticket Office opens its windows at 7pm. You are welcome to arrive earlier than that, but you will not be able to go through the haunted house until after you have exchanged your ticket for a wristband. NO EXCEPTIONS.
We have portable bathrooms in two locations onsite: right when you first arrive near the TIcket Office and between the Paxton Manor and its basement, Carnival of Souls.
Be prepared to come hungry and thirsty! We’ve got DRINKS and FOOD onsite, plus some killer merchandise to take home to haunt you later in… The Carvers’ Chopping Maul! We’ve got frighteningly-delicious pizza from Paisano’s, scary-good beer from Old Ox Brewery, and bone-chilling Boneyard wine from Tarara, plus Chick-fil-A sandwiches, snacks and other non-alcoholic beverages too. *PLEASE NOTE: NO ALCOHOL OR CHICK-FIL-A ON SUNDAYS.
Expect to arrive and wait in line for our main attraction, Paxton Manor. How long of a wait? Your guess is as good as ours. If you don’t want a long wait or you are pressed for time, we recommend taking advantage of our RIP passes or coming on Sunday, which is typically a slower day.
Paxton Manor is Northern Virginia’s only REAL Haunted House. Brand NEW this year the first three levels of the haunted manor has turned into Paxton Hall, a horrifying and haunted boarding school. Encounter new characters, including creepy students and frightening teachers, as you unravel the dark and mysterious past of Paxton Hall. The haunt also includes Carnival of Souls, the basement of Paxton Manor, an attraction full of creepy clowns and carnival carnage. Our haunted attractions are not for the faint of heart, this annual event is PG-13 Scary Fun. Our two attractions features more than 100 cast and crew to create the ultimate haunted house experience. Each self-guided tour of the haunted PAXTON MANOR takes approximately 20 – 25 minutes and CARNIVAL OF SOULS takes 10 – 15 minutes. To get the best experience, we typically let groups of 4 to 8 go through at a time.
Coming from out-of-town and need somewhere to stay? We’ve got you covered. The National Conference Center and Lansdowne Resort and Spa are minutes away from Shocktober! Both are killer choices! Check out The National’s special Halls of Horror hotel package here.
