Shocktober™, a terrifying, PG-13 haunted experience, takes place in the 32-room, 20,000-square-foot, 4-level Carlheim Manor and “Well of Souls” basement, located in the historic district of Leesburg, Loudoun County, Va, the heart of DC’s Wine Country. Carlheim Manor, Northern Virginia’s only REAL Haunted House, was built in 1872 over limestone caverns and an underground lake which has a history of legends filled with paranormal activity. Shocktober™ is NOT for the faint of heart! Are you brave enough to face the horrors around every corner of Shocktober™?

Shocktober is an award-winning fundraiser for the nonprofit, The Arc of Loudoun.

The Arc of Loudoun’s vision is to provide a lifetime of opportunities for people with disabilities. Our mission is to advocate for, educate, serve and support people with disabilities and their families.

In 1967, parents of children with disabilities founded The Arc of Loudoun because they had a vision to help their family members live “a life like yours.” In December 2009, The Arc leased the Paxton Campus and, on this property, created a seven-acre “safe-haven” for all people with disabilities and their families.

Today, The Arc of Loudoun, a local chapter of The Arc National, is home to five integrated programs that serve the most vulnerable and underserved in Loudoun and the Greater DC Region—children and adults with disabilities, their families and caretakers, and the professionals who work to help them achieve their greatest potential.

This place was amazing and super scary!!!

One of the best haunted houses I've ever been to!! I would go here Year after year and I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!! Also I'm from Salem Massachusetts the Witch city and I've been to a lot of haunted houses this was the second best by far amazing!! I compared this to spooky world in New Hampshire and the only reason it is second is because it was too fast to go through and I wanted more and Spooky world has 5 attractions and a big bonfire! Other than that the scare factor was phenomenal thank you for the great experience!!!!

For a Great Cause & Well Done

Just a well done fright-fest. Every room is a new and scarier experience! And that it’s for a great cause makes it even better! Thank you!

I attended their "Bloody Valentine" weekend and absolutely LOVED it. I screamed over and over and over again and then laughed my face off watching my friends scream. It is super dark, there are a ton of actors that seem to really enjoy their jobs, and it is very disorienting going up stairs, downstairs, through the crazy tunnel, through the tiny spaces to get to the next rooms. All the props, the various scenes and the characters are well thought out and creepy as hell. Bloody good job! It's officially the scariest haunted house I've ever been to!

I highly recommend this haunted house!

I have been on some scary haunted houses, but this one takes the cake as one of the scariest I have ever walked though. My heart was throbbing the entire time as I nervously went through each room. My poor wife only got through the first room and called it quits. Great customer service as well, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Fun night out!

We ventured out to Leesburg to check out this haunted house after seeing a post on Facebook. First of all the proceeds go to charity to help special needs people and there families! Great cause, just be expected for long waits( we did get a groupon for 2 for 56$ and still had to wait awhile in ticket line, however you kinda expect long waits at any haunted attraction. The haunted house was scary and you go up stairs and down stairs in the house, lots of different rooms. The basement trail is clown themed , that was pretty cool as well. Overall the place was organized and was a fun night out!

Thrilling & For a Great Cause!

Not only was this one of the most thrilling nights I’ve ever experienced but finding out its for such a great cause? That’s even better. The volunteers stayed in character throughout the night sending chills up my spine and all of my friends spines as well. If you are in the area or even just passing through I highly recommend adding this to your must see list. It will scare the pants off of you and have your palms sweating before you even enter the house! Make sure you don’t skip the basement either! That, in my opinion, took the night to a whole other level!
